Federal Skilled Trades Program (FST)
The FSTP is for skilled workers who want to become permanent residents based on their qualification in a skilled trade.
There is no education requirement
At least two years of full-time work experience (or equivalent part-time) in a skilled trade within the five years before applying
Meet the job requirements for that skilled trade as set out in the National Occupational Classification (NOC)
Have a valid job offer of full-time employment for a total period of at least one year or a certificate of qualification in that skilled trade issued by a Canadian provincial, territorial or federal authority
Meet or exceed the minimum language requirements (Canadian Language Benchmark 5 for speaking and listening, and Canadian Language Benchmark 4 for reading and writing or Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens 5 for speaking and listening, and Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens 4 for reading and writing)
